by Chandra Broadwater ATHENAEUM STAFF Students living near the Life Sciences Center construction
site don’t have to rely on their alarm clocks to wake up in the mornings,
thanks to the work that begins in the area at 7 a.m. every morning.
by Stephen Singer THE ASSOCIATED PRESS KEYSTONE, W.Va. — No one stopped to watch as workers dismantled
the only bank in this southern West Virginia coal town, one box at a time.
by Stephanie Taylor ATHENAEUM STAFF Shannon Donovan, a graduate student at West Virginia University,

by Danny Forinash ATHENAEUM STAFF Flying squirrels have to be the strangest creatures in
the world. They are squirrels with the ability to fly. God didn’t do that
with anything else. You don’t see ducks climbing up trees with great speed.

have grown under their arms and gliding away. As far as I can see, it’s
God’s way of toying with squirrel hunters, cats and movie reviewers.
by Rob Rossi ATHENAEUM STAFF Marc Bulger is the first to admit he hasn’t exactly set
the college football world on fire this season. He’s thrown just five touchdown
passes — none in his last 162 minutes and 23 seconds of action — and after
five starts, has yet to reach the 1,000-yard passing plateau.
