People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is sponsoring their first nationwide Internet contest with approximately $600 worth of vegan food. PETA was established in 1980 and is one of the world’s largest animal rights organizations.

Last Thursday night I had the pleasure of going to 123 Pleasant St. for a fund-raising benefit for the WVU Snowboard Club. Adventure’s Edge, a local outdoor sporting goods store, co-sponsored the event, dubbed Snowfest 2000.

Q: What was the Big East’s involvement with West Virginia?
A: First of all, West Virginia informed us very early on that there was a possible problem. As they ascertained that there was a problem, all we did with the people of West Virginia was to make certain that they could go out and identify facilities to play games in the event that they would receive an unfavorable ruling.
