Autopsy conducted on body from Oregon man’s home

OREGON CITY, Ore. (AP) — An autopsy was conducted Monday on an unidentified body found in a barrel buried behind the home of a man suspected in the disappearance of two missing girls.
A body found in a shed behind the rented home of Ward Weaver on Saturday was identified as that of 13-year-old Miranda Gaddis, one of two girls who vanished last winter from an apartment complex down the road from Weaver’s home.

W.Va. students head back to school Monday

It’s back to a familiar routine for many West Virginia students — waking up to alarm clocks, packing brown bag lunches and bookbags and catching yellow school buses.
But many students and teachers kicking off the new school year Monday were greeted with some welcome changes, including new schools and equipment.
The Village of Barboursville Elementary, which consolidates Pea Ridge and Barboursville elementaries, had an open house Sunday.
