‘Backwoods yokel’ hits the Big Apple

Being a West Virginia resident for 19 of my 22 years, I guess I pretty much have to be considered a backwoods yokel, especially compared to those from New York City. But that doesn’t mean the experience was too much to handle. 
Paying $6 to cross the Washington Bridge was the biggest shock of the whole trip. I’d seen everything else on TV or in the movies, so much so that it felt like an all-too-normal slice of Americana.

Bush’s forestry plan bad, especially if he overreaches
ollowing a summer of devastating forest fires in the American West, President Bush said last week in Oregon  the nation’s current forestry policy,  which has decreased logging by over 12 years, is “misguided policy.”
He suggested allowing the nation’s timber industry to increase logging efforts by removing “kindling” in our country’s national forests.

 Coldplay burst onto the music scene with a song lacking pop or punch. “Yellow” was inconspicuous and sappy, but a terrific song nonetheless. The video was slow and the band unheard of, but everybody who bought Parachutes was rewarded with one of the best albums of the year. You could easily listen to it start to finish and play it again immediately.

Once a hallmark of Mountaineer football, last year’s team gave up a staggering 213 rushing yards per game.
