Two captive Jehovah’s Witnesses beheaded in southern Philippines

JOLO, Philippines (AP) — The heads of two Jehovah’s Witnesses kidnapped in a Muslim extremist group’s stronghold were found dumped in a public market Thursday in the southern Philippines. Four other members of the Christian sect remained captives.

WVU student becomes McNair Scholar

West Virginia netizens can now access online aerial views of the entire state, thanks to the WVU Geographic Information Systems Technical Center.
The maps are called digital orthophoto quadrangles (DOQ), computer-generated images derived from aerial photographs. The perspective displacements caused by camera angles and terrain are removed, adding the geometric qualities of a map to highly-detailed photographs.

After leaving Nine Inch Nails he founded one of the hardest-hitting bands of all time, Filter. “Hey Man, Nice Shot” was as controversial as it was inspired, and Title of Record was the rebound album that produced their first top 10 hit, “Take My Picture.” Though a departure from the loud screams linking cut-and-paste guitar licks, it was a viable hit.
