Games offer weekend of events

This Friday evening, the sky will be ablaze.  So will the emotions of nearly 600 hopeful athletes, as the West Virginia Special Olympics summer games return to Morgantown for the fourth consecutive year.

Cancer rates ‘optimistic’

 WASHINGTON — Rates for cancer cases and deaths went down in the 1990s, led by declines for prostate, lung and colon cancer, according to combined government and private studies. More breast cancer cases were detected, apparently because of aggressive screening.

Multi-CAP cancels insurance

CHARLESTON — Multi-County Community Action Against Poverty, Inc., canceled health and life insurance policies Tuesday for its employees, many of whom are working without pay, in a bid to reduce a debt that has topped $3 million.

It’s an honor
We can all learn something from Special Olympic’s athletes
his weekend, for the fourth consecutive year, Morgantown will play host to the Special Olympics West Virginia Summer Games.
It’s more than a just a tradition, it’s an honor.
More than 600 athletes from across the state will be participating in events ranging from track and field to kayaking, tennis and aquatic events.
