Crash survivors interviewed

KEY WEST, Fla. — The FBI interviewed the hospitalized survivor of a Cuban plane crash, and the Coast Guard said Wednesday it plans to transfer the eight others rescued from the Gulf of Mexico onto a U.S. ship.

Mass bike ride planned for today

Today is World Car-Free Day, an event which is designed to draw attention to the ecological and sociological problems caused by the automobile.
A Critical Mass Bicycle Ride will take place today in downtown Morgantown. Similar rides have been organized all around the globe.

The University must now be accountable for asbestos problems

he hammer of justice has been slammed, and now West Virginia University must answer.
Kanawha County Circuit Judge Tod Kaufman ruled Sept. 13 that the University’s insurance covers injuries resulting from the inhalation of asbestos particles. This means that any University employee who feels they were put into danger by being exposed to asbestos can have tests to see if any damage to their respiratory system has been done -- at the University’s cost.

The Miami Hurricanes usually arrive in Morgantown with a high national ranking and a team that is expected to win the Big East Conference. Miami enters this week’s game with a No. 12 ranking in the Associated Press Poll and was the preseason favorite to win the Big East.
