Kaleidoscope has taken on a new definition across the nation and especially in Monongalia County. The Kaleidoscope Community Learning Centers are not only helping students in grades four through eight, but they are also offering paid internships to WVU students.

Pricketts Fort offering summer events 
for those wanting to get out of the house

Historic Pricketts Fort State Park is one of the premier            attractions of West Virginia. This log fort is a recreation of the       original Pricketts Fort of 1774. The original fort was a refuge from Native American War parties in colonial Virginia. It was reconstructed by the Pricketts Fort Memorial Foundation in 1976, and serves as a living historical site where interpreters re-create the lifestyle of the 18th century.

Council addresses building concerns

“I know something ugly when I see it,” city council member Bill Byrne said at Tuesday night’s city council meeting.
He said he felt some of the buildings around town were becoming too            dilapidated.

Adelphia to add channels
Adelphia Communications is now planning to expand their services in July.
Mike Ligouri, general manager of Adelphia, spoke to the city council about the addition of many channels to         Morgantown’s television line up. They will also add digital cable to the rebuilt areas of town.
By September 1, Ligouri said they will carry a basic package of 25         channels for a low price.
Some new channels being added,      include multiple Disney Channels,      Discovery Channels and an array of     international channels for higher prices.

Airport to get $1 mil
over next 3 years
Senator Rockefeller recently helped to usher a bill through Congress allowing $1 million each year for the next three years to the City of Morgantown for    capital improvement projects.
This money will be given to the      Morgantown Municipal Airport to help make improvements in the next five years.
At Tuesday night’s city council      meeting, the first reading of an ordinance was passed allowing the airport’s master plan to be   updated.
This plan has already been       reviewed by the Federal Aviation Administration and other         important agencies.
