LOS ANGELES — Investigators found the second “black box” recorder from Alaska Airlines Flight 261 on Thursday, quickly locating the devices that could tell them why the plane flipped upside down and plummeted into the ocean.

Coal company to give up land for new schools 

Coal is not the only natural resource in Monongalia County, according to officials at Consolidated Coal. Plans were announced today for the company to give up to 95 acres of land to the county board of education for the construction of two new schools.
